Who is currently attending HVA?

Virtual learning requires a student to be self-motivated to successfully progress through coursework. We look at applicant records to ensure students are set up for success.Even if you feel your student will not meet the admission requirements, we encourage you to apply. We will review patterns in student records and extenuating circumstances to determine if HVA is a good fit for your family.

Each student will need to meet with their mentor teacher each day for at least the initial four weeks of the semester. These initial daily meetings will help students learn how to properly use Canvas, Edgenuity, Email, and Google Calendar. Meetings will also help students build a daily routine and learn how to ask for help when needed. After the first four weeks, students may be able to meet with their mentor teacher less frequently depending on where the fall in the HVA Levels System.

HVA does not have dedicated teachers for fine arts, world languages, physical education, or career technical education courses. It is recommended for students to attend these courses in-person at their home campus.
If a student is in need of elective courses, but cannot attend classes in-person, we may be able to provide online courses through contracted teachers and/or the Texas Virtual School Network. Please email HVA@huttoisd.net if your child needs online elective courses.

Once you are accepted into HVA, you will work with the HVA principal and mentor teacher to build your schedule. IMPORTANT: If you are a current Hutto ISD student attending at least one course in-person, you need to submit your course selection choices at your home campus to ensure enrollment for in-person classes.
